Second panel

The first photograph depicts the Baby Battistino, in his mother’s arms, with his little brother Lodovico. Next is placed a manuscript of Battista at the age of six and a half, in which he expresses his feelings of affection and gratitude on his mother’s birthday (July 4, 1904). The photograph on the right shows Battista at eight years old between dad and mom and next to his two brothers, Lodovico and Francesco.

In the second row, starting from the right, we see Battista at age fifteen and in the Center a handwritten letter from Rome with New Year’s greetings to his father (December 30, 1920). Then there is a photo of Battista in his twenties, arm in arm with his father, and on the right,  the newly ordained priest Fr. Battista with mother and father in Verolavecchia.

In the third-last row on the left is a photo from Warsaw with Montini serving at the apostolic nunciature and, in the Center, a handwritten letter from him to his family (Warsaw, Sept. 26, 1923). Next is a photo of Montini from the Secretariat of State in the Vatican (March 16, 1924), where he would render 30 long years of uninterrupted  service (1954).

In the last row, from left, a handwritten letter from Archbishop Montini to his brother Lodovico (May 7, 1958), a photograph with his two brothers (Lodovico and Francis) and a handwritten letter to Francis as Pope Paul VI (Aug. 11, 1963).
